The QR from Ambient Recording is a quick release tip for microphone boompoles and can be used to provide a noise-free joint for attaching microphones, shock mounts, and other accessories.

Overview
The QR features a taperlock where a taper stub (not included) screwed to the microphone assembly, is inserted into a tapered hole through a butterfly opening which is twisted until the stub falls into place. The spring-loaded catch closes locking the stub and can only be removed by twisting the outer sleeve until the taper stub falls out.
Built of aluminum, the QR has an ABS plastic cover for the spring and can be disassembled for occasional cleaning and re-greasing.
