Suspension Medium ORTF (MZL) is suitable for a matched pair of Sennheiser MKH 8020/40/50 in ORTF Stereo configuration in an AE Windshield. Includes a MZL stereo Connbox.

Main Benefits:

  • Our new small and medium modular bars are now more durable and less prone to wear and tear.
  • Comfortable pistol-grip handles allow handheld use, but also have a 3/8" boom adaptor in the base for quick transfer boom operation

Description

ORTF stereo recording was pioneered by the engineers at the French state broadcaster in the 1960s, and is defined as using a stereo pair of microphones with the capsules spaced 17cm apart, and at an angle of 110 degrees to each other.

A specially designed Rycote mounting adapter bar keeps the microphones at the correct spacing and angle for ORTF recording, and the Lyre suspension provide a solution that is extremely resistant to unwanted vibrations such as cable-borne and handling noise.

The 5-pin XLRm output Connbox uses detachable Binder cables, with 130 mm tail - with MZL connectors.
